In autumn "Miratorg" will start the sales of bottled milk
"Miratorg" is Russia's largest producer of pork (423 000 tons in live weight) and beef (108 000 tons), according to the industry unions for 2018. "Miratorg" announced its plans to become one of the leaders in the dairy market and create a vertically integrated dairy production in 2017. The dairy project will include farms, as well as the production of dairy, fermented dairy products and cheeses, reported the company, estimating investment into the project in the amount of $400 million. Total dairy herd will be up to 20 000 heads. Plans remain, now we are working on the design, the company has not chosen the region for the implementation yet, says Mr. Nikitin, but the investment is not specified.
Milk production will be located on the farm Blagodatnenskaya, which the company acquired in 2014, and three years later launched there a platform for fattening bulls obtained from dairy cows (they are used for the production of pink veal). For this project, the state allocated more than 700 million rubles of subsidies in 2017 under the program to support dairy farming.
