In 2017 the largest goat breeding complex will be put into operation in Tula region. The project is designed both as the production site and as processing facilities. The total population of goats will amount to 25 000 heads. However, changes to the plans are not excluded (editor's note - the final version of the business plan will be announced after receiving the approval of the loan for the project). Supplier of cattle will be the largest producer of goat milk in Eastern Europe, the company Elkomex.
Pasteurized and sterilized milk, fresh goat cheese, sour-milk products (yogurt, buttermilk, kefir), functional healthy food products and hard goat cheese are the products that will be made from goat's milk.
"Sanctions imposed by the Government on the import of dairy products play an important role in motivating the development of goat breeding. In Russia there are practically no large producers of such products. There are only a few enterprises with the herd of 1000 - 4000 goats that is, as the saying goes, "a drop in the ocean". It is enough just look at the shop shelves to understand that this market niche is almost free, and the products are in demand as it became fashionable to eat right and healthy products",- said Andrey Ayvazov, project Manager, in comments to The DairyNews.
The volume of investments will amount to more than 4 billion rubles.
