The National Union of milk producers noted that implementation of two traceability systems for dairy products is unacceptable, writes The DairyNews.

It is worth reminding: mandatory labeling of dairy products will begin in Russia in March 2020.

In addition, since July 1, 2019 for dairy enterprises of Russia there began to operate FSIS "Mercury", which allows to implement a system of traceability "from the field to the counter" on the basis of the system of the Rosselkhoznadzor.

According to estimates of Soyuzmoloko, additional costs for the implementation of the labeling system will exceed 25 billion rubles of investment costs and about 20 billion rubles of annual operating costs. Taking into account the fact that in the last five years the income of the population is decreasing, and the business will incur costs for the implementation of "Mercury", the introduction of labeling threatens a significant increase in the cost of dairy products and the mass departure of small regional producers due to the unprofitability of production.
