General Prosecutor Mr. Chaika was offered to examine milk
The Chairman of the Board SOUZMOLOKO, Andrey Danilenko, informed General Prosecutor, Yuriy Chaika, that a corruption scheme might lie behind. Milk producers could overstate milk class in the documents to receive subsidies.
Mr. Danilenko doubts theboosti in milk quality improvement in the North-Caucasian region. In his opinion that is impossible to achieve without serious changes in agricultural sector management and investments. According to Mr. Danilenko, he was informed about collusions between milk producers and processors in other regions of Russia: in Smolensk, Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, Lipetsk, Ivanovsk, Voronezh and Tambovsk regions. These collusions are possible because raw milk is examined at the dairy factories laboratories instead of independent laboratories.
The unfair producers’ and processors’ actions lead to a dramatic decrease of the volume of subsides received by fair players because the total volume of the government subsidizing is fixed. The Government has planned to allocate 9.55 billion rubles for this purpose in 2013.
