For 11 months of 2019, the production of ice cream amounted to 420 thousand tons

In January-November 2019, ice cream production in Russia amounted to 420 thousand tons, which is 26 thousand tons (or 6.9%) more than in the same period the year before last. This was announced by Gennady Yashin, General Director of the Ice cream Union of Russia, during the round table "The school of technologist", held within the framework of the Prodexpo exhibition on February 11, writes the DairyNews.

"Ice cream production for 11 months of 2019 amounted to 420 thousand tons. During the same period in 2018, there was reached the level of 394 thousand tons. At the same time, during the year, many manufacturers reported to the Union about a possible decrease in production due to difficult weather conditions - a warm summer. Some lost from 20 to 30% of the volume", said Gennady Yashin.

The expert said that growth mainly came from Southern area – 103.4%, Ural – 103.1%, Northwest – 102.4%, Far East – 100.2%.
