Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Gordeev considers it appropriate to transfer of powers in the sphere of food products control to the Rosselkhoznadzor. This was told to the journalists by the Deputy Prime Minister during his visit to the Russian export center.
"We hope very much that we will come to this, too. It's very modern, and it should be like this. I support it", he said.

Gordeev noted that many developed countries, including European countries, are carrying out walkthrough over the quality of food. "As it is said now – field-counter, farm-plate. Why? Because it is one technological chain and, as a matter of fact, one technology of check at each stage, at each link of quality and safety", - Gordeev explained.

At the end of March 2018, Alexander Tkachev, being the head of the Ministry of agriculture, stressed the need to expand the Rosselkhoznadzor in the field of veterinary control and reported that the Ministry of agriculture is working on a package of legislative initiatives and is trying to persuade other agencies of the need for such decisions.

Development of export of deep processing products

Alexey Gordeev noted the need to increase the volume of exports of deep processing of livestock and crop production. "Crop production products are the most promising, first of all, the whole line of grain products. But we see the potential for the development of livestock products, taking into account the fact that we have a powerful forage base", he said.

Gordeev called strange a scheme in trade, under which Russia delivers feed abroad, and imports meat and dairy products from there. "In this sense, I believe that the greatest prospect is deeply processed livestock products, and, accordingly, I would prefer to sell not grain, but deeply processed products, at least flour, but better different types of cereals and a lot of products", the Deputy Prime Minister said. He added that Russian producers understand that it is necessary to overtake European countries at least by "half a step".

Gordeev also noted the importance of the fact that the work in the project workshop on the formation of the national project for the development of exports was joined by business represented by large companies, unions and associations. "This approach shows that the government, business, society solve together the new goals of the country", - said Gordeev.

In turn, the head of the Russian export center Andrey Slepnev noted that it is necessary to implement the national project to support exports in such a way that there are Federal projects in it, one of which would be the export of agricultural products. The first version of the national project should be prepared by the Russian export center within a month, he added.

As it was previously reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to increase exports of agricultural products up to $45 billion by 2024.
