Dairy Index RDRC rose by 0.64%
On the Russian market the price of raw milk continues to grow. The price of milk in the "regions-exporters" rose by 0.18% to 22.28 rubles/kg at the end of last week. The price of milk in the "regions-importers" rose by 1.04% to 25.24 rubles/kg. The average weighted price of milk in the “regions-importers” and “regions-exporters” was 23.60 rubles/kg, which is by 0.6% higher than last week and by 5.73% higher than the October price in 2016.
The index import price amounted to 28.97 rubles/kg, by 2.08% above the level of last week and by 0.7% above the average October figure in 2016. Prices at the auction Trigona Dairy Trade last week, showed a decline once again: the price of butter recalculated in rubles fell by 12.22% to 386.72 rubles/kg, the price of cheese decreased by 1.86% to 236.72 rubles/kg. In this regard, the import price of a pair of Skimmed milk powder + Butter fell by 2.91% to 32.01 rubles/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of Cheese + Whey decreased by 1.68% to 26.26 rubles/kg. The price of whole milk powder fell by 0.04% to 24.11 rubles/kg.
At the same time, changes in the structure of imports, reflected in the increase of the proportion of Skimmed milk powder + Butter and Cheese + Whey in terms of milk, provoked the growth of the index of import price. Additionally, the Euro exchange rate against the ruble rose slightly last week.
New Dairy Index RDRC will be published on October 23.
Dairy Index RDRC is calculated based on two key indicators, average weighted price of milk in “regions-exporters” (of raw milk) and “regions-importers” and Index of import price. The "regions-exporters" include the Republic of Tatarstan, Novosibirsk, Kirov and Yaroslavl regions; the "regions-importers" are Moscow region, Altai region, Krasnodar region and Bryansk region. The index of import price is based on the stock prices of key dairy products – skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. Prices of imported dairy products are calculated based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the price at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
