Exports of agricultural products from Crimea, especially grain, in 2017 increased by 77% compared to 2016, said Deputy Head of the regional office of the Rosselkhoznadzor Andrey Drygin.
Crimean farmers harvested about 1.7 million tons of grain in 2017, the yield was 30.7 centners per hectare.

"The growth of exports (from Crimea) in 2017 amounted to 77%. If in 2016 the export of products under quarantine (mainly grain) amounted to 364 thousand tons, at the end of 2017 we have 654 thousand tons. It is a very positive trend," said Drygin.

He also drew attention to the fact that the employees of the Department conducted inspections of each batch of export grain and the results of tests showed the presence of a large number of weeds in grain - identified in 120 of 186 batches. This situation is of concern and requires attention from farmers, said the Drygin.
