By the results of the first quarter, milk production in agricultural organizations increased by 3.1%

During the first quarter of the current year the volume of milk production on farms of all categories increased by 1.5% compared to the same period last year and made 6.41 million tons, reports The DairyNews with reference to the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation.
The milk production in agricultural organizations increased by 3.1% and made 3.73 million tons.

The largest increase of milk production was shown by agricultural companies in Belgorod (+12,3%), Voronezh (+8,7%), Kirov (+6.9%) and Sverdlovsk (+6,3%) regions, in the Republic of Tatarstan (3.5%) and in the Republic of Udmurtia (+5,5%).

During the first quarter of this year, the average milk yield per cow of a dairy herd at the large agricultural enterprises amounted to 1399 kg of milk, which is 5% higher than during the same period in 2016.

The greatest increase of milk production will be made in the Republic of Ingushetia (+55,8%), the Republic of Crimea (+37,4%), in Primorsky Krai (+12,3%) and in Volgograd region (+16.4 per cent).
