The Minister of agriculture and food of Bulgaria Desislava Taneva and the Minister of agriculture of Russia Alexander Tkachev discussed the possibilities for Bulgarian companies interested in export of their products to Russia, to subject to prior approval.
According to the press service of the Ministry of agriculture of Bulgaria, the talks took place on October 6 in the framework of the International agro-industrial exhibition "Golden autumn-2016" in Moscow.

"For us it is very important that the Bulgarian companies had the necessary certificates for the export of goods to Russia," said Desislava Taneva, noting that thus "there won’t stand any obstacles for the start of deliveries after the abolition of the Russian embargo for the Bulgarian producers".

According to her, today the 27 enterprises of the Republic are interested to export their products to Russia. They should go through all the procedures while Russian retaliatory sanctions are still applied, said the Bulgarian Minister.

For his part, Alexander Tkachev, according to the press service of the Bulgarian Ministry, assured that the approval procedure may be initiated in 2017. It is expected that next year, the Russian inspectors will visit the Bulgarian Agency for food safety and enterprises that intend to export their products.

During the meeting they also discussed the ban on the import of plant products with the phytosanitary certificates issued by the Bulgarian Agency for food safety, which currently primarily affects producers of medicinal herbs in the Republic. The parties agreed that in October a group of Agency experts will visit the Ministry of agriculture where they will be trained with an electronic system that controls the products of plant origin imported to Russia.

"Two bodies have to find a solution and the possibility of electronic tracking of exported phytosanitary products. If the person decided to fake them, like the incident that took place last year, the electronic system will track the documents and verify their authenticity," said the Bulgarian Minister.

It is reported that the parties "expressed their desire to develop further cooperation in the field of agriculture and food and use more of the existing possibilities for the development of modern export-oriented agriculture".

Previously, The DairyNews wrote that Bulgaria does not intend to support the initiative for the lifting of sanctions which the EU imposed against Russia, said the foreign Minister of Bulgaria Daniel Mitov.
