Dairy products trade between Belorussia and Russia may get a push due to exchange business growth. During the seminar organized by Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) with the National Dairy Producers Union (SOUZMOLOKO) the possibility of trade via BUCE was discussed.

During the seminar organized by Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) with the National Dairy Producers Union (SOUZMOLOKO) the possibility of trade via BUCE was discussed. As per experts’, switch to exchange trading scheme can help to exclude such processes as counterfeit supplies and illegally organized schemes of supply which damage national economy.

Resolution No. 191 was signed on March, 3rd  2014 , it authorized the use of commodity auctions to export individual types of raw materials and finished products. Entry into the exchanging market was not successful, pointed the seminar participants, as the price trend went down, and those who wanted to work according to old schemes complained of the new approach.

“A board has the right to set certain price range on the basis of current market environment, market data and to bear responsibility for it for the sake of national producers”, - said Arkady Salikov, BUCE Chairman. He added that at the moment around 100 companies from Russia and 50 from far abroad are registered at the board, which could purchase dairy products on a regular basis. But the disparity of indicative and real prices slows down the process.

Today agreements between BUCE and Russian dairy unions are concluded, they are aimed at bigger amount of companies attraction to the stock trading. Experts believe, to make this market successful it is necessary to get government support. It bears reminding that this question was raised at a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Stavropol Region (Russia), where the Russian President instructed to make market relations more transparent.
