Anatoly Losev: producers of products from plant-based raw materials should not parasitize on the names
"Products from plant-based raw materials have their consumers at every phase of the life cycle. On the example of the European markets, we understand that these products have their own, albeit small niche. The same is the case in Russia - despite the fact that our consumption is much lower, there is a potential in this market segment, - said Anatoly Losev, stressing that it is important not to mislead the consumer.
The plant-based product, according to the expert, should not be called a dairy term.
"It is necessary to introduce clear definitions in the industry technical regulations, so that producers of products from plant-based raw materials do not parasitize on the names", said Anatoly Losev.
Earlier, we wrote that in Chile for the first time there was adopted a law prohibiting the naming of products from plant-based alternatives with dairy terms.
