Alexander Tkachev: Russian farmers still have to fight for a place under the sun

"It has become fashionable to buy domestic. Today we occupied Russian shelf by 80%. This is because we are on the right way: we apply innovations, technologies, competitive manufacturing, education," - said Tkachev.

Russia "will have another 10 years to compete for a place in the sun on a new way", said the Minister.

According to him, Russia after self-sufficiency needs to export 40-50% of products.

"Today they are pork, poultry, grain, vegetable oil and sugar. In the near future we need to export beef, dairy products, vegetables and fruits. We must saturate the local market with these products and start to export. The task is to generate revenues, the currency into the country not only through the oil and gas industry, but also through selling products of second or third conversion. We need to develop agriculture to make it profitable, efficient and investment," - said the Head of the Ministry.
