The volume of agricultural production in Russia increased by 2.5% in January - May 2018 compared to the figure for the same period in 2017 and amounted to 1 trillion 272 billion rubles. This was reported in the materials of Rosstat.
In May 2018, the volume of agricultural production showed an increase of 2.3% versus the figure for May last year and reached 339.3 billion rubles.
According to Rosstat, the number of cattle on the farms of all agricultural producers at the end of May did not change and was equal to 19.7 million heads. In particular, the number of cows decreased by 0.4%, to 8.4 million, sheep and goats - by 1.7%, to 26.8 million.
At the same time, the number of pigs, according to statistics, increased by 5.7% to 24.8 million. In January - May 2018 farms of all categories produced 5.7 million tons (+3.6%) of livestock and poultry to slaughter (live weight), 12.2 million tons (+3%) of milk and 18.4 billion eggs (+4.1%).
